A Special Goodbye | NYU Now

The inaugural broadcast of NYU Now aired on the same day thousands of immigrants took a leave of absence from work in major cities to show what America would be like without its immigrants. We ended our broadcast with a special message, a reading of “The New Colossus” by Emma Lazarus. As Execute Producer and Anchor, I produced this piece as a special tribute marking the inaugural broadcast.

The following are some of the video pieces I helped produce at NYU during my time there as a M.A. Journalism student. The News and Documentary program specialized in creating “one man band” video producers - the full stack developer version of video journalism.  I learned how to find a story, and tell it in a way that matters using a variety of tools from the entire Adobe Suite to a range of production equipment - everything from high end film cameras to drones and GoPros.

The Health of An Island

The Health of An Island is an exploratory documentary about the effects of the removal of Obamacare in New York city’s ignored borough that overwhelmingly voted for Donald Trump. The piece is a two person presentation, one for and one against. A doctor who believes Obamacare should be removed and a patient who can’t survive without it.

1 minute profile: Ellen Fagan

Four Legged Customers

New York City has 8 million people and 1.2 million pets, this is a story about a group of young businesses catering to these unique customers.

This piece was published under the Small Businesses Big Apple banner by NYU NewsDoc. Read the full article here.

2016 Election Story

One of the first stories I produced at NYU. In the weeks following up to the 2016 election I met with young voters in Jackson Heights Queens to ask them who they are voting for, what they think of the election and why do so many political experts believe young people are not interested in politics?

The Votes of Young People | PODCAST

On Monday, the 7th of November 2016, the day before the election, I spoke to four young college students in New York City. Each involved in the election cycle in a unique way to know what the past year has been like for them, and why they believe is it important for young people to vote this election.
